Melbourne Food and Wine Festival

Nigel Stainwall, of CNK Food Design, creating one of his signature dishes at Polly Woodside as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Among the ingredients of this delicious Paella are chicken, chorizo, calamari and mussels. The chillies displayed can be added for those that like a little extra spice! #melbfoodandwine #cnkfooddesign #melbourneevents #venues #pollywoodside

Storm Clouds

The thunder and rain in Melbourne this afternoon reminded me of this shot I took on our recent trip through NSW. ‪#‎stormclouds‬ ‪#‎landscape‬ ‪#‎photography‬ ‪#‎outback

Lake in drought

This was a shot I took back in 2009 with my old Nikon D70 (my first digital SLR). Not bad for a 6MP camera! This was taken near Glenmaggie in the region of Gippsland, Victoria, during what was clearly a time of drought. We were still suffering water restrictions at that time. I should make another trip to see how the lake looks now! I imagine it will be quite different! #drought #Gippsland #Australia

The Dish!

Road-tripping from Melbourne to Brisbane, we stopped in at Parkes, NSW to see the CSIRO Radio Telescope made famous by the great Australian movie, "The Dish"! I must admit it was an impressive sight. I am fascinated by science and technology and this particular icon represents a proud moment in Australian history, when the signal for the moon landing was beamed around the world.

Creative landscapes

I took this shot back in 2012 when I was on a camping trip to Dimboola. I liked the reflection on the water, but it was a dull day and the image just wasn't jumping out at me, so I thought I would play around with some effects. The solarisation effect reminds me of the film clip to the David Bowie song, Ashes to Ashes! I am quite happy with the result, but happy to hear what you think!

Shedding some light in a dark gloomy gaol

These lanterns added to the mood for a recent cocktail party set up at the Old Melbourne Gaol.

Hong Kong shower

I occasionally like to share some of my personal work on here. This shot was taken on a trip to Hong Kong in 2008. There was a fountain in a public square where children were running through to cool off. The sun was also setting and I noticed the way the light was reflecting on the water showering down, so I grabbed my camera and caught a pic of this girl running through the water.
